Final Results
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Senior Jonathan Soimo (Kapsabet, Kenya) led the Norfolk State men’s cross country team with a 12th-place finish on Saturday at the Tribe Open 8K at Eastern State Hospital.
Soimo ran a time of 27 minutes, 24.62 seconds on the wet, blustery morning. Freshman Kameron George (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was next for NSU, finishing 21st in 28:36.58.
The Tribe Open was the final regular-season tuneup for the Spartan men. NSU is off this Saturday before competing at the 2009 MEAC Cross Country Championship in Princess Anne, Md., on Oct. 31. The Spartans will be seeking their second consecutive MEAC title, and ninth in the last 10 years.
