DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Chelle Ticeson had a match-high 14 kills and hit .520 with two digs as the Bethune-Cookman volleyball team defeated NSU 3-0 on Friday night at Moore Gymnasium. BCU (12-14, 6-4 MEAC) won the match 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.
NSU (8-20, 3-4 MEAC) played a tough match and kept it very close in the first and third sets, but the Lady Wildcats were able to outlast the Spartans.
For BCU, Daryl Rodriguez tallied 23 assists and five digs, while Jacqueline Woodyear had 14 digs and Julie Gibson had 12 assists.
Tracey Copley (Virginia Beach, Va.) led the Spartans with seven kills and 11 digs. Nicole Kessner (Blacksburg, Va.) hit .429 with 23 assists, six kills and five digs.
The Spartans continue their swing through the Sunshine State when they take on Florida A&M at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
