NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State sophomore Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. It was Chichester's third MEAC weekly honor this season.

Chichester won the individual title at the 2008 Spartan Invitational this past Saturday, completing the 5K course in 18:49.00, helping the Spartans their first win of the season while recording a season-best 33 points.  

The Spartans run at the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawk Challenge on Saturday in their final meet before the MEAC Championships which will be held in Princess Anne, Md. on Oct. 25.
