NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's cross country is ranked 12th in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region poll.
The Spartans, who were unranked in the preseason poll, break into the rankings after winning the team title at the Lou Onesty Invitational last Friday in Earlysville, Va. The Spartans topped a five-team field there, which includes nationally-ranked host Virginia (third in this week's Southeast Region poll). NSU junior Josef Tessema (Springfield, Va.) won the individual title with a personal-best time of 25:03.25.
