Complete 2013 MEAC Men's Cross Country Results
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Senior Damtew Adnew finished seventh with a time of 26:14.80 to lead the Norfolk State men's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the MEAC Championship. The 8K race was held at the UMES Cross Country Course on Saturday morning.
Adnew earned All-MEAC honors for the second time in a row. Also earning All-MEAC honors was freshman Sammy Kiptoo, who placed eighth with a time of 26:16.70.
Rounding out the top 30 for the Spartans was senior Kipchirchir Kiptoo (27:11.10), who was 19th and redshirt freshman Marquis Worsley (27:55.70), who finished 26th.
Sophomore Joshua Carino (28:34.00) and redshirt freshman William Brown Jr. (28:42.90) placed 34th and 37th, respectively. Sophomore Juliun May (29:01.50) closed things out for the Spartans with a 42nd place finish.
NSU ended the day with 94 points. Defending champion Florida A&M claimed the MEAC title with 30 points. Howard was second with 68 points and North Carolina A&T finished third with 80 points.
The Spartans will travel to Earlysville, Va., on Nov. 15 to compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Virginia.
