SMYRNA, Del. – Led by another strong effort by
Desmond Fogg, the NSU men's cross country team finished as runner-up for the second straight meet last Friday at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational.
Fogg led a quintet of Spartans who placed in the top 10. As a team, NSU tallied 33 total points, just behind first-place UMES (31).
Fogg completed the 8,000 meter course in 26 minutes, 59.1 seconds to lead the team for the second straight meet. Fellow sophomore
Sammy Kiptoo was close behind, finishing fifth in 27:06.6.
Freshman
Haileyesus Demsie was NSU's third finisher, clocking a time of 27:21.7 to finish seventh. He was followed by
Nathnael Meseret (27:25.4) in eighth and
Damtew Adnew (27:27.7) in ninth.
The Spartans are off this week before competing at the CNU Invitational on Oct. 18.
