Camp Registration Form
– The Norfolk State volleyball program will host a pair of summer camps in late July at Joseph Echols Hall for teams and individuals looking to improve their play.
NSU will host a team camp from July 24-26 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Cost of the camp is $1,800 per team, which includes 10 players and one coach. Each additional player and coach is $100 more.
The volleyball program will also hold an individual skills camp for advanced players on July 28 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cost of the camp is $80 per player.
The team camp will focus on instructions, drills, competition and off-site team bonding time. Team development sessions and a competitive camp tournament are also part of the overall experience. Each team's registration forms and payment must be sent in together.
Team bonding activities include either a ropes course, paintball, a self-defense class, Top Golf or the Escape Room in Virginia Beach. Each team will also play nine total matches during the three-day camp.
The individual skills camp will cover all fundamentals, including setting, attacking, defending, serving, passing and blocking in fast-paced, high-repetition drills. The camp will focus less on technical instruction and more on individual explanation on how to improve skills at a higher tempo rate.
Players attending the individual camp should be well-established players at the middle school and high school levels.
All campers must bring their own apparel, knee pads and water bottles. Lunch will not be provided.
The Norfolk State coaching staff and current NSU players will provide instruction and serve as court coaches.
Registration deadline is July 7. No refunds will be given after that date. Each camper must provide a consent/liability/medical release form and fill out the camp registration form located here
