NORFOLK, Va. – A total of seven Norfolk State softball players were honored by the conference on Wednesday when they were named to the MEAC All-Academic Team.

Seniors Kayla McNair and Hannah Haustein, juniors Seana Moriarty, Julianne Gillo and Jaylene Pryor and sophomores Hunter Halford and Shelby DesChamps were NSU's seven honorees for this year.

To be eligible for the MEAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in their athletic standing, have been in residence at the institution for at least one year and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

Of the 13 teams in the league, only Morgan State (13), Bethune-Cookman (9) and Maryland Eastern Shore (8) had more all-academic honorees than Norfolk State, which had just 11 players eligible for the team based on their athletic standing.
