MEAC Men's XC Results
SMYRNA, Del. – Junior
Festus Bett and freshman
Kamil Jihad both earned all-conference honors by placing in the top 15 at Saturday morning's MEAC Cross Country Championships, helping the Spartan men to a fifth-place finish.
The All-MEAC award was the third in as many years for Bett, who was NSU's top finisher on Saturday. He finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 28 minutes, 9.9 seconds, good for 10th place. Jihad, a freshman, was close behind, finishing 11th in 28:11.9.
Junior
Felix Kiprotich was NSU's next finisher, placing 20th in 29:09. Junior
Bill Kemboi was 25th in 29:43.7, and senior
Joseph Wanene rounded out the top five in 52nd (32:19.7).
North Carolina A&T won the men's team championship with 51 points. The Aggies were followed by Savannah State (86), Bethune-Cookman (89), Maryland Eastern Shore (90) and NSU (118).
