Nahinu Signs with Norfolk State Volleyball

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State volleyball team has signed Mary Nahinu, a libero/defensive specialist, after an incredible season at Skyridge High School in Utah.

Nahinu, a four-year letter winner for the Flash, led her team to a 20-12 overall record, finishing third in the 6A region with a 6-4 record.

Nahinu led her team in total digs (364) and was second in digs per set (3.5). She surpassed 1,000 digs her senior season, capturing the Skyridge school record for most career digs, finishing with 1,182.

She also tallied 55 service aces, 79 assists, and 412 serve-receives during her senior season.

She led the Flash to a seventh-place finish at the 6A State Tournament, after her team finished 2-2 with wins over Copper Hills (3-0) and Bingham (2-1).

Against Copper Hills, Nahinu registered 16 digs and 10 serve receptions, while against Bingham, she totaled 16 digs and 12 serve receptions.

For her performance in the state tournament, Nahinu garnered 6A All-State 3rd Team honors.

Nahinu also earned All-City honors in the fall, receiving Most Valuable Player title by the Lehi Free Press and All-Valley First Team honors.
