Long Jumpers Lead NSU at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C.

Two Norfolk State long jumpers headed up NSU’s top finishes over the weekend at the 2004 adidas Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Stadium. On the women’s side, NCAA Indoor Championships qualifier Tianna Goldring (Bryantown, Md./La Plata) took fourth place with a mark of 5.96 meters.

Goldring’s finish was the highest for either the NSU men or women.

On the men’s side, freshman Demetrius Westbrooks (San Diego, Calif./Morse) placed sixth with a best effort of 7.13 meters. Both the men’s and women’s 4x100 relay teams came in the top 10 on their respective sides, with the women coming in ninth and the men 10th.

Both teams return to North Carolina this weekend when they travel to Durham for the Duke Invitational.
