Norfolk State University and the City of Virginia Beach are pleased to welcome the elite NCAA Division I Track & Field student-athletes to the Virginia Beach Sports Center. The venue opened in the Fall of 2020. The 285,000-square foot facility, which is the home to 12 basketball courts and 24 volleyball courts, is located across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center and features a state-of-the-art indoor hydraulic track with seating for up to 5,000 spectators.
The 2023 NCAA Division II and 2024 Division III Track and Field Championships were the first and second of five NCAA events hosted by Norfolk State University and the City of Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach Sports Center will host the 2025 Division I Indoor Championships the 2026 Division II Indoor Championships, and the 2028 Division III Indoor Championships.
