TransAmerica Travel is a proud sponsor of NSU Women's Basketball. The Hyattsville, Md. transportation company donated $50,000 for the renovation of the women's basketball locker room and will provide transportation services for some of the Spartans' road games. 

“It is a great opportunity for us to give back to a historically black institution,” said president and CEO Jodi Neal. “We want to help Coach Owens build the women's basketball program so that she can attract the high-caliber student-athletes she needs.”

“Having TransAmerica Travel as a sponsor will assist the women's basketball program as well as the athletics department and the university in numerous ways,” head coach Tara A. Owens said. “We constantly seek others who will share the vision we have in developing student-athletes into productive, first-class citizens. TransAmerica is certainly a company with vision.”

The locker room renovation includes the installation of new lockers, carpet, video equipment, and a learning center that includes four computers.
