Kayla Roberts continued her domination of the MEAC's Rookie of the Week award, as she was named the conference's top rookie for the third week in a row and seventh time this season on Monday.
Roberts averaged 13 points and 12.5 rebounds in NSU's games against UMES and Morgan State. Her best performance came in the game at Morgan State, where she scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Roberts was 7-of-13 from the floor, 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line in the win over MSU.Â
Roberts also grabbed 16 rebounds in NSU's loss to UMES on Monday.
Roberts is 12th in the MEAC in scoring (12.1 points per game) and first in rebounding (9.7). Against MEAC opponents only, she is averaging 13.8 points and 12.1 rebounds per game.
The Spartans (9-14, 8-4 MEAC) play at Coppin State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
