NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State redshirt senior guard Chanette Hicks was named the MEAC Co-Player of the Week, her fifth time earning the award this season. She was also named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time.

Hicks went off for a career-high 31 points on 15-of-25 shooting against Richmond on Monday night. She also finished with eight steals, seven rebounds and five assists. It was her second 30-point game this season and the fifth time she's had a game with at least six steals.

Hicks remains second nationally in steals, averaging 5.1 steals per game. She's moved up from ninth to seventh in the country in scoring, now averaging 22.1 points per game after last game's 31 point outburst.

The Spartans begin MEAC play with Bethune-Cookman at Echols Hall on Saturday at 4 p.m.
