NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior catcher
Kylee Lopez was named the MEAC All-Tournament Team over the weekend after the conference tournament came to a close on Saturday.
Lopez batted 4-for-8 in three games last week during the tournament at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex. She drove in a pair of runs and had a walk and stolen base to lead the Spartans.
A native of Norfolk, she hit a sac fly on Wednesday in a 2-1 win over North Carolina A&T. Lopez then went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI single in a 9-5 loss to Florida A&M on Thursday, followed by a 1-for-3 outing against North Carolina Central later that evening.
NSU saw its season come to a close with a 3-2 loss to NCCU, which gave the Spartans a 25-20 overall record on the year. The program last had a player on the all-tournament team in 2014.
