EARLYSVILLE, Va. – Meshack Kipchirchir and
Evans Cheruiyot both broke the 26 minutes mark to lead the Norfolk State men's cross country team at the XC23 Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.
Kipchirchir finished the 8,000-meter course in a season-best time of 25 minutes, 28.9 seconds to finish 41
st overall and pace the Spartans.
Evans Cheruiyot was right behind, placing 42
nd in 25:30.1
Lelei Too also ran well for NSU, placing 66
th in 26:37.9. Isa Sulieman rounded out the four Spartans who finished the course. He ran a time of 26:44.8, good for 70
th place.
The Spartans have off next weekend before competing at the 2021 MEAC Championship in Cary, N.C. on Oct. 29.
