NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State softball and tennis programs have made changes to their schedules for this weekend. Spartan tennis has pushed its matches back to next week, while NSU softball has adjusted its weekend schedule at home.
Spartan softball will now play a doubleheader against Morehead State on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's games will start at 5 p.m., and Sunday's contests will start at 11 a.m. NSU's games against Youngstown State for this weekend, including Friday's single game at 4 p.m., have been cancelled.
Due to State of Virginia restrictions according to the most recent Amendment to the Executive Order 67, only guests of the participating teams and a limited number of NSU students will be allowed to attend. NSU softball games are not open to the public under the current Amendment.
Player guests and students will need to stop by the check-in table at the NSU Softball Field, where they will receive a wrist band to attend the games. Spectators are required to wear a mask when on the NSU campus and observe social distance guidelines.
Live stats and
live video will be available for all four softball games this weekend.
Norfolk State tennis has had its matches at Virginia Wesleyan this weekend pushed back to next week due to weather. The Spartan women were set to take on the Marlins on Friday, with the men making the trip across town on Saturday. The women's match, which will also serve as their season opener, is now set for Tuesday at Virginia Wesleyan. The men will visit the Marlins on Wednesday.
Virginia Wesleyan is not allowing spectators at any of its home events this year.
The Spartan men will also travel to VCU on Monday, while the women will host UNC Greensboro next Thursday at 2 p.m. and play at Richmond on Feb. 27.
