Hosley Named MEAC Pitcher of the Week for 3rd Time

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior Danny Hosley picked up a MEAC weekly baseball honor for the third straight week on Monday, as the conference selected him as Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Hosley was dominant again on Sunday, recording his team-leading fourth win of the season on the mound. The right hander allowed just three hits and two runs (one earned) and tied his career high with 10 strikeouts in a seven-inning complete game in NSU's 6-2 victory over Florida A&M. The victory marked Hosley's fifth straight start throwing a complete game, four of which have come in seven-inning contests. The senior leads the country in complete games and has fanned 10 hitters in back-to-back starts.

Hosley, who starts at shortstop when he's not pitching, also batted .500 (6-for-12) for the week to increase his average to .314 on the season. On the mound, Hosley is 4-1 with a 2.33 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 46.1 innings pitched this year, ranking among the MEAC's top three in wins, strikeouts, innings and ERA.

Hosley has won a total of four MEAC weekly awards this year. This is his second straight Pitcher of the Week honor, and he also won Player of the Week on March 29. His first Pitcher of the Week designation came on March 15.
