EARLYSVILLE, Va. – All-MEAC runners
Evans Cheruiyot and
Meshack Kipchirchir both finished among the top 30 runners for the NSU men's cross country team at the University of Virginia Invitational.
The pair helped the Spartans finish sixth place out of eight teams at their second meet of the season.
Cheruiyot led the way with a 25th-place finish, covering the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 42.8 seconds. Kipchirchir was not far behind, clocking a time of 25:56.5 to finish 30th.
Lelei Too and
Isa Suleiman finished 53rd and 54th, respectively. Too registered a time of 27:19.3 and Suleiman finished in 27:23.2. Rounding out NSU's top five was
Je'Shawn Walker in 67th with a time of 28:39.3.
The Spartans have off until the Virginia XC23 Invitational back at the same Panorama Farms course on Oct. 15.
