NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior guard
Deja Francis was named the MEAC Co-Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday, the league announced.

The honor marks the second straight week Francis has received a MEAC honor, after being named Player of the Week on Jan. 25 as well.

Francis led NSU to a 60-40 victory at South Carolina State on Saturday, the Spartans' fourth straight. Francis stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, seven rebounds, five assists, one block, and a career-high five steals.

The Spartans lead the MEAC with a 4-0 conference record, and Francis has commanded the charge. She's averaging 22.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game during conference play, while shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 86.1 percent at the free throw line. Her 32 points against Coppin State on Jan. 22 is the highest scoring outing of any MEAC player this season.
