NORFOLK, Va. | Norfolk State University sophomore forward
Kierra Wheeler was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Wheeler was a force on Saturday in Norfolk State's 64-37 victory over Howard as she posted a double-double, with a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds. The Minneapolis, Minn. native went 7-of-12 shooting and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. In addition, Wheeler added three steals and one blocked shot to pace the Spartans.
Norfolk State returns to action on Saturday as the Spartans visit Coppin State. Tip-off against the Eagles is set for 2 p.m. from the Physical Education Complex Arena.
