Camille Downs was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Downs, who has earned the defensive player of the week honor three times this season, averaged 5.0 steals per game for the Spartans in a pair of wins this past week. She opened with six steals against Maryland Eastern Shore, tying her season high, before adding four more in Monday's win over Delaware State.
On Monday night against Delaware State, Downs registered a game-high 19 points, along with seven rebounds, including five on the defensive glass, with four steals and four assists.
Norfolk State (19-5 overall, 7-2 MEAC) returns to action on Saturday during Alumni Weekend and Greek Night against Morgan State. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. from Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall.
