Camille Downs was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Downs had a huge week for the Spartans as Norfolk State clinched the top spot in next week's MEAC Women's Basketball Tournament. The Fredericksburg, Va. native shot 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from the field and 71.4 percent (5-of-7) from the field during the two games. She averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals.

Against North Carolina Central on Monday, Downs registered a game high and season high 25 points, shooting 9-of-11 from the floor as the Spartans won their second consecutive MEAC regular season championship.

Norfolk State concludes the regular season on the road as the Spartans visit Howard. Tip-off against the Bison is set for 6 p.m. from Burr Gymnasium.
