NORFOLK, Va. | The Norfolk State University women's basketball team will open the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday against South Carolina State in the quarterfinal round at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
Norfolk State (23-6) is the top seed in the tournament and will face eighth-seed South Carolina State (3-26) in the 12 p.m. game to open the conference tournament. Morgan State (17-10) is the second seed and will also play on Wednesday as the Bears face seventh seed Maryland Eastern Shore (9-19).
On the second day of the tournament, No. 4 seed North Carolina Central (14-15) meets Coppin State (8-21), the fifth seed, at 12 p.m., followed by Howard (14-13), the third seed, taking on sixth seed Delaware State (7-18) at 2 p.m.
The semifinals begin at 12 p.m. on Friday with two games, followed by the championship at 4 p.m. on Saturday. All tournament games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with the championship game to re-air on ESPNU.
