NORFOLK, Va. – Playing its third match in as many days, the Norfolk State men's tennis team fell 7-0 to South Carolina State on Monday afternoon at the NSU Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs took the opening doubles point with victories on Courts 2 and 3. SCSU won at No. 2 doubles 6-0, before Novak Novakovic and Luka Stefanovic took down
Hugo Massoni Lena and
Boris Lunin 6-2.

South Carolina State kept the momentum going into singles play with quick wins at the No. 2 and No. 5 positions. Pedro Sasso defeated Lunin 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, before Aissa Benchakroun took down
Federico Rebecchini at the top position.

Massoni Lena and
Ibrahim Abbas battled until the end at the No. 3 and No. 6 slots, respectively, making pushes in the second set. Rostislav Haflinger won a tiebreak to beat Massoni Lena 6-2, 7-6, while Ivan Pauliuchenka did the same in a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Abbas.

Norfolk State returns to action on Friday, Apr. 7 against North Carolina A&T. The match, taking place at NSU Tennis Complex, will begin at 1 p.m.
