NORFOLK, Va. -- Norfolk State softball senior
Cam Andersen has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, announced by the league office on Monday.

The senior in three appearances threw 14 innings during which she went 1-0 in the circle. Andersen gave up just two runs on seven hits while striking out 13 batters, including seven batters in the game at North Carolina Central. At the plate, Andersen recorded three hits in eight at-bats with a pair of doubles that drove in four RBI.
Andersen threw the complete game against Maryland Eastern Shore where the Spartans won 5-1, as well as six innings in the midweek game at N.C. Central and an inning of action against N.C. State.
On the season, Andersen has collected a 10-4 record in the pitchers circle throwing 100 innings with two combined shutouts and four complete games. She has struck out 82 batters, which leads the team, while allowing 83 hits and 59 runs.
The Spartans (24-19 / 14-6) return to the field tomorrow when they travel back down to North Carolina to face the Fighting Camels of Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. Action begins at 2 PM for game one of the doubleheader.
