STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team could not pull out its first victory of the season in road territory on Saturday, falling 4-1 to Wagner at CSI Tennis Courts.

Gabriela Davidescu earned the Spartans' lone point for the second consecutive match, taking down Wagner's Tara Dakic 7-6, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles position.

Wagner won the opening doubles point with quick victories on Courts 2 and 3, taking a 1-0 advantage.

Wagner went ahead 2-0 when Gabrielle Perraudin defeated
Irina Iurea 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 2 position, before Davidescu got the Spartans on the board the victory on Court 1.

Paula Ysabelle Uy bested
Alessia Stan 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 3 position, before Jasmine Lin closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over
Isabella Cottrell at the No. 6 slot.
