BALTIMORE, Md. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team closed out its road trip with a victory on Monday afternoon, defeating Loyola University of Maryland 6-1 at McClure Tennis Center.

The Spartans won the opening doubles point by winning two of the three matches.
Antoni Pankowski and
Jakub Solarski earned a smooth 6-1 triumph over George Cavo and Nick Lawliss, before
Vladisav Gorbatenko and
Deniz Okyay defeated Nick Haggar and Oliver Davey to clinch the point.

Solarski kept the momentum going with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Lawliss at No. 3 singles, followed by a 7-6, 6-2 victory by Okyay over Davey at the No. 2 slot.

Frederick McRae got on the board by beating Haggar in a tough, three-setter 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 at the No. 4 position, before Pankowski did the same against Ryan Boland 6-7, 7-5, 10-3. Loyola's only point of the day come by opponent retirement at No. 6 singles.
