NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team earned its most dominant victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon, defeating U.S. Merchant Marine Academy 7-0 at NSU Tennis Complex.

The Spartans (5-5) easily won the opening doubles point, sweeping all three matches. After taking the No. 3 position by default, Norfolk State received 6-1 and 6-0 victories on Courts 1 and 2, respectively.

NSU brought that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets.

The Spartans won on Court 6 by default, before
Boris Lunin took down Lena Lewis 6-0,6-0 at the No. 5 position.
Frederick McRae earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory as well over Sam Bradshaw on Court 3, while
Jakub Solarski beat Josh Staroselskiy by the same result at the No. 2 slot.

Vladisav Gorbatenko got the Spartans another point at the top position, defeating Brent Matthews 6-3, 6-2.
Deniz Okyay rounded out the match for Norfolk State, beating Gabby Eitkis 6-1, 6-2 on the No. 3 position.
