CARY, N.C. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team wrapped up a perfect weekend at the MEAC Tennis Roundup on Sunday, defeating Morgan State 5-2 at Cary Tennis Park.
 
Norfolk State (8-7, 3-0 MEAC) won doubles narrowly for the first point of the afternoon. 
Vladisav Gorbatenko and 
Frederick McRae won 6-1 at the No. 3 slot, before Morgan State picked up a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position. Freshman duo 
Antoni Pankowski and 
Jakub Solarski earned the point for the Spartans by winning 6-4 at the top of the lineup.
 
Deniz Okyay continued his strong week with a dominant performance at the No. 3 slot, defeating Makkijkha Brown 6-0, 6-0. The Bears cut Norfolk State's lead to one shortly after, as Mikael Carpenter took down Solarski 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 1 position.
 
Pankowski bested Kondwani Patterson 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 5 position to push Norfolk State ahead 3-1, but Niles Rachal kept the Bears alive with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Gorbatenko on Court 2.
 
McRae clinched the match for the Spartans with a three-set win at No. 4 singles, defeating Rhajzon Rankins 6-4, 0-6, 6-4. 
Boris Lunin added another point to the total moments later, beating Anthony Paris 6-2, 6-4 on Court 6.
