WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Norfolk State softball team faced MEAC opponent Howard for the last time this season on Saturday at the Nats Youth Academy with game one streamed on ESPN+.
The Spartans (4-41, 3-17 MEAC) fell in both games to the Bison, 4-2 in game one and 12-4 in game two in six innings.
In game one, the Spartans took a 2-0 lead leading into the bottom of the fifth inning after holding the Bison to four consecutive scoreless innings.
A three-run bottom of the fifth allowed the Bison to take the lead and never surrender it.
In game two, the Spartans fell in six innings after a five-run bottom of the sixth by the Bison in the 12-4 loss.
Coming up - In the regular season finale, the Spartans will face Hampton in the Battle of the Bay matchup on Tuesday at the Lady Pirates Stadium for a 3 p.m. start.
