RALIEGH, N.C. – The Norfolk State baseball team dropped a road matchup to No. 23 NC State on Tuesday evening, 18-0, in seven innings of play.
The Spartans (11-36) could not hold off the Wolfpack's (27-18) offensive firepower, 15 hits and 15 walks.

Justin Journette earned Norfolk State's first hit of the day with a single up the middle during the first inning, but the Spartans came away empty handed. Three doubles in NC State's first five at-bats helped the Wolfpack take a quick 3-0 advantage.

NC State added two runs in the second inning and three in the third to keep the momentum going.

Liam Royster in the fourth inning, getting the Spartans to the fifth without any further damage.

Mac Yarbrough got the Spartans off the field quickly upon entry, forcing his first batter into a double play.

 The Spartans hit the road this weekend to face Stonehill College, before returning home to conclude the regular season against Le Moyne at Marty L. Miller Field.
