NORFOLK, Va. -Â The 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Softball Teams were announced Tuesday afternoon. Two Norfolk State softball team members were recognized on the CSC Academic All-District Softball Team:
Emma Zieg and
Lauren Sheehan.

Zieg, the Chesapeake, Va. native, pitched 46.2 innings with a 4.24 ERA in her freshman season, making 20 appearances and six starts.

Sheehan, the junior outfielder/pitcher from King George, Va., played in 42 games making 35 starts, with 13 appearances in the circle. She recorded a .209 batting average on 18 hits, nine RBIs, eight runs, and four doubles.

Zieg and Sheehan were also members of the Norfolk State Athletic Director's Fall and Spring Honor Rolls.

The Academic All-District Softball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. All-District honorees advance to the All-America ballot, with a chance to earn a spot on the 2023-24 Academic All-America teams.Â

First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 18.
