Diamond Johnson earned MEAC Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Johnson helped lead the Spartans to a pair of wins against North Carolina Central (96-57) and Howard (68-56). She averaged 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 5.5 steals across the two victories.
Johnson scored 19 points in the win against NCCU, adding eight rebounds, six steals, and five assists to her totals.
Johnson produced a strong performance against HU, recording 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals to help the Spartans secure the No. 1 seed at the upcoming MEAC Tournament.
NSU opens the conference tournament on Wednesday, Mar. 12 at 12 p.m. against No. 8 seed South Carolina State.
