NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk State softball players Queen Olivia Edmonds and
Amaya McPherson earned MEAC Player of the Week and MEAC Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the second time through three weeks of play.
Edmonds, a shortstop from Newport News, Va., registered at least one hit in seven consecutive games, collecting a .500 batting average for the week on 11 hits in 22 at-bats. Edmonds posted four multi-hit games, along with two doubles and two stolen bases.
McPherson, a pitcher from Woodbridge,Va., recorded 22.1 innings pitched in five appearances for the Spartans. She gave up nine earned runs on 27 hits, whilst striking out 13 batters. She also tallied two hits in 10 at-bats with one double and two stolen bases.
