NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State softball second baseman Emory Shorts has earned MEAC Player of the week honors, announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
 
Shorts recorded a .400 batting average by going 4-of-10 at the plate, leading NSU to a 3-0 at Morgan State this past weekend. Shorts produced three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base across three games.
 
Shorts drove in two runners on a pair of doubles in a 6-1 victory in the opening game of the weekend, while adding her third double of the series in a 4-2 win in the second game. She scored the only run in a 1-0 win to close out the series on Sunday, going 1-for-3 at the plate.
