NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State All-American Kendrick Winfield earned a spot on the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State First Team for the indoor track and field season, announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.

Winfield becomes the first Spartan in program history to earn VaSID All-State First Team honors for indoor track and field, and the first NSU student-athlete named to an indoor all-state team since 2023.

The standout sprinter posted high-level performances all season long, earning distinction as Norfolk State's first indoor national qualifier since 2019. He placed 13th in the 200 meters at the NCAA Indoor National Championships with a time of 20.87, earning USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors.

At the MEAC Indoor Championships, Winfield etched his name into the record books, winning the 200-meter title with a school-record time of 20.66. He added another gold in the 400 meters (46.23) and anchored the 4x400 meter relay team to a first-place finish in 3:08.66.

Winfield helped the Norfolk State men's track & field team capture its fourth consecutive MEAC Indoor Championship. The Spartans scored 202 points over the two-day event to claim the title.
