INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

South Carolina State claimed the early advantage by securing the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead into singles play.

The Bulldogs opened with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Norfolk State responded at No. 3, where Szymon Malecki and Marcin Andrzejczak evened the score with a victory. The deciding match came down to the No. 2 flight, where Boris Lunin and Szymon Janzen battled but fell 7-5, giving South Carolina State the doubles point.
