Biography

2011 (Sophomore): Voted to the All-MEAC second team at designated hitter … was also selected to the MEAC All-Tournament Team … ranked fourth on the team and 13th in the MEAC with a .338 batting average … finished fourth among conference players in on-base percentage (.472), fifth in walks (33) and runs scored per game (0.9) and 10th in total runs scored (43) … hit on-base percentage also led the team and ranked 48th in the nation … was also successful on 12 of his 14 stolen base attempts … doubled four times, hit one home run and drove in 24 runs … had 19 games with at least two hits and eight with at least two RBI … had a career-high four hits, finished 4-for-4 with an RBI, in the first game with Penn State (3-12-11) … posted five straight multi-hit games in late March, beginning with a 3-for-4 day against Penn in the first game of a doubleheader (3-20-11) … had a walk-off, two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth that won the first game of the North Carolina A&T doubleheader (3-26-11) … went 5-for-7 with three runs scored, three walks and three RBI in the first two games with Coppin State (4-2 and 4-3-11) … stole four bases, two in each game, during the doubleheader at UMES (4-9-11) … was 2-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBI in the first game against the Hawks … also scored four times, finishing 1-for-4 with three walks, in the third game with Coppin State (4-11-11) … had another game-winning hit in the series opener with Delaware State, hitting a tie-breaking RBI single in the bottom of the eighth (4-22-11) … scored a career-high five runs and was 3-for-4 with a stolen base in the win over Longwood (5-13-11) … batted .368 (7-for-19) in the MEAC Tournament with three two-hit games … went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and a two-run home run in the first tourney win over Delaware State (5-19-11) … the homer was the first of his collegiate career … also went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two walks and a stolen base in the second tourney win over DSU (5-20-11) … named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2010 semester.

2010 (Freshman): Played in 38 games and started 27 during his rookie season … started 23 games in center field and four at DH … batted .247 with seven RBI and 10 stolen bases … posted five multi-hit games … went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in the series finale with Villanova (2-21-10) … stole two bases in the second game of a doubleheader with N.C. A&T (3-27-10) … had a season-high three hits in five at-bats in the first game with Coppin State (4-2-10) … scored a season-high three runs and hit his first extra-base hit, a double, in the series finale with Coppin (4-3-10) … went 2-for-3 with two steals in the first game of the series with UMES (4-10-10) … batted 2-for-4 and scored twice against Virginia State (4-20-10) … had a season-high two RBI in the loss to VCU (5-5-10).

High School: First-team All-TCIS and VIS All-State Division II as a senior … also selected to the All-Tidewater second team … teamed with Serafine and Morton to help GCA win the VIS state title as a senior … batted .522 with four home runs, 27 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 18 attempts … attended Kellam High School in Virginia Beach prior to transferring to GCA...was a first-team All-Beach District baseball player as a junior in 2008 … as a senior on the Kellam football team, Taylor was the Beach District Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Tidewater pick after rushing for 1,590 yards and 13 TDs.
