2007 (Junior Season)
Made 18 appearances on the mound for the season with a team-high 15 starts…posted a 4-7 record…had the second lowest-ERA on team and sixth-lowest in the MEAC (3.87)…had the conference’s fourth-lowest ERA against MEAC opponents (2.37)…led team in complete games (four) and innings pitched (88.1)…was the only MEAC pitcher with two shutouts, and tied for the most complete games among conference pitchers…had the third-lowest opponents’ batting average among MEAC pitchers (.247)…was second on the team in strikeouts (65)…earned his first win and shutout of the season against Coppin State, striking out nine batters and allowing just four hits over seven innings (3-31-07)…pitched another complete game in his next start against UMES (4-8-07)…against UMES, allowed two runs and six hits with five strikeouts in seven innings to earn his second win…pitched a two-hit shutout against Delaware State and matched his season-high with nine strikeouts (4-21-07)…Named MEAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 23…helped shut out Virginia State, pitching two scoreless innings in relief (4-30-07)…allowed just two hits against Savannah State in six scoreless innings to improve his record to 4-6, walking one and striking out six (5-13-07)… named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team. 

At NSU
Enrolled in the fall of 2005 but had to sit out the 2006 season after transferring.

Prior to NSU
Attended Old Dominion in the fall of 2003 before transferring to Christopher Newport University…made five appearances in 2004 for the Captains…was 1-0 with an 8.53 ERA in 6.1 innings pitched…did not play in 2005.

High School
Lettered two years on the varsity for coach St. Clair Jones…helped the Knights advance to the semifinals of the 2002 Group AAA state tournament in his junior season.

Leon Otto Schabacker was born on July 30, 1984…son of Steve and Lorrie Schabacker…majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
