Biography

2009 (Junior Season)
Was second on the team with five wins, finishing 5-5 with a 4.86 ERA…led the squad with 71 strikeouts and 17 appearances, 11 of which were starts…ranked seventh in the MEAC in strikeouts and eighth in innings pitched (76)…opened the season by fanning a career-high 10 hitters over a seven-inning complete-game win over North Carolina Central (2-21-09)…also pitched a complete game in the win over North Carolina A&T, allowing just two runs in seven innings (3-21-09)…struck out eight in six innings while allowing just one run in a win over Coppin State (3-31-09)…also fanned eight hitters in a loss to Bethune-Cookman (4-11-09)…earned consecutive wins against Florida A&M (5-2-09) and Hofstra (5-9-09) later in the season…pitched for the second straight summer with the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League…pitching primarily as a reliever, Bright went 4-1 with one save and a 1.91 ERA for the Pilots, who reached the CPL championship series.

2008 (Sophomore Season)
Registered a 6-6 record and 3.43 ERA in his first year at NSU…served as a reliever in mid-week games and was also a weekend starter…11 of his 18 appearances were starts…ranked seventh in the MEAC in ERA and tied for sixth in wins…ranked in the conference’s top five in innings pitched (81.1), complete games (five) and shutouts (two)…walked just 18 in 81.1 innings of work (fewer than two per nine innings)…earned his first career win against North Carolina Central (3-10-08)…allowed just four hits and two unearned runs in six innings, striking out a career-high seven hitters…improved to 2-3 with a five-inning, two-hit shutout vs. Coppin State (3-29-08)…struck out six in that game…allowed just three earned runs in 12 total innings in consecutive losses to Bethune-Cookman (4-12-08) and Delaware State (4-19-08)…tossed seven innings of five-hit work in a win over Savannah State (4-26-08), walking just one batter…notched his fifth win of the year against Florida A&M (5-4-08), allowing just one run in eight innings to go with five strikeouts…also beat FAMU in the MEAC Tournament, pitching a career-high nine innings and allowed just one earned run (5-17-08)…also scored a run after walking in that game after entering the batting order midway through.

At Bridgewater
Logged a 3-5 record as a freshman in 2007…made 15 appearances with six starts…pitched 39 innings and struck out 18 batters…helped Bridgewater win the ODAC Tournament championship and advance to the Division III Tournament.

High School
A four-year letterwinner at Ocean Lakes…was high school teammates with current Spartans Anselmo Cantu and Carlos DeJesus.

Quinn Edmond Bright was born on May 13, 1988…son of Harry and Tammy Bright…majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
