2012 (Redshirt): Redshirted the season due to an offseason wrist injury and subsequent surgery.

2011 (Sophomore): Made 21 pitching appearances, tops on the team … 18 of his appearances came in relief … made three starts and threw one complete game … finished the year 3-3 with a 5.16 ERA in 45.1 innings pitched … did not allow an earned run in 12 of his appearances … picked up his first win of the season with a scoreless inning of relief against Hofstra (3-5-11) … in his second start of the season, tossed a seven-inning complete game to earn the victory against Penn (3-20-11) … gave up eight hits and one run with two strikeouts in that performance … pitched three scoreless innings of relief in the second game of a doubleheader with Bethune-Cookman (4-16-11) … struck out three batters in 2.1 innings of work at Florida A&M (5-8-11) … earned his third win of the season against Longwood with 2.2 scoreless innings of relief (5-14-11) … named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2010 semester and also earned a spot on the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.

2010 (Freshman): Made 22 appearances as a freshman, second-most on the team … came out of the bullpen in 21 of those and made one start … had an 0-2 record with one save and a 7.18 ERA … pitched scoreless ball in 10 of his appearances … pitched two scoreless innings in the first game of the series at Delaware State (2-24-10) … made his first career start in the second game of a doubleheader with Savannah State (5-1-10) … did not factor into the decision, allowing three runs and seven hits in a season-high five innings of work … recorded his first career save a week later against FAMU (5-1-10), pitching three innings and allowing one unearned run … was selected to play after the season for the Carolina Hurricanes of the Carolina-Virginia Summer Collegiate League … went 3-0 with a 2.61 ERA in 18 innings of work split between relief and starting duty.

High School: Lettered three years on the varsity squad at GCA … helped the Gators win the Virginia Independent Schools (VIS) Division 2 state championship each of his three years … as a senior, Morton had the game-winning, walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to clinch the Gators’ state championship victory.   

Personal: Raymond William Morton was born on June 20, 1990 … son of John and Mary Morton … majoring in sociology/criminal justice.
