2021 (RS Senior): Appeared in 10 games with five starts … Struck out 46 batters in 33.2 innings pitched … Went 1-3 with a 7.75 ERA … Struck out four in two scoreless innings pitched against ODU on Feb. 20 … Earned a save in a win at N.C. Central by pitching the last three innings and striking out five … Fanned a season-high eight over five innings to pick up a win at Coppin State on March 27 … Allowed two earned runs over five innings with six punchouts in a no-decision at FAMU … Pitched a season-long 6.1 innings in the MEAC championship win over N.C. Central … Struck out eight and allowed just two runs on five hits in earning the no-decision.

2020 (COVID/Senior): Made four starts in the Spartans’ weekend rotation … Was 0-3 in 23.2 innings pitched with a team-high 30 strikeouts … Ranked second in the MEAC in strikeouts, fourth in innings pitched and seventh in opponents’ batting average (.233) … Fanned at least five in all four starts … Struck out seven in just 2.2 innings pitched to open the year against Wagner … Allowed just four hits over seven innings while striking out eight against Morehead State … Worked a season-high eight innings against Albany, striking out a season-high 10 … Gave up just four hits and one earned run (five total) in a defeat … Struck out five in six innings pitched at Kentucky … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the spring semester.

At Savannah State (Freshman-Junior): Attended SSU from 2015-19, but redshirted the 2019 season … As a junior in 2018, started 10 games and was 2-6 with a 5.85 ERA … Struck out 66 batters in 52.1 innings and tossed two complete games … Went 2-4 in 16 appearance spanning 23 innings as a sophomore in 2017 … Made 17 appearances and started five games as a freshman in 2016 … Struck out 25 batters in 30 innings pitched that year.

High School: A three-sport standout in high school … Played two years of varsity baseball … Also lettered three years in both bowling and soccer.

Personal: Alex Scott Wright was born on Aug. 24, 1997 … Son of Doug and Kimberly Jarvis … Earned his bachelor’s degree in marine science from SSU.
