2021 (Senior): Named to the All-MEAC first team for the second time in his career … Also named to the Black College Baseball Elite first team and earned MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Performer honors … Two-time MEAC Player of the Week … Ranked second in the MEAC with a .364 batting average … Led the conference with 71 hits, 92 total bases and 50 runs scored … Also was second in steals (17), third in RBIs (37) and doubles (12) and sixth in both on-base and slugging percentage … Had at least one hit in 45 of the 52 games in which he played and two or more 19 times … Hit the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning in the MEAC championship win over North Carolina Central … Hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs at ODU on Feb. 23 … Matched his career high with four hits (4-for-4) in the MEAC Tournament opener against FAMU … Went 3-for-6 with two runs, two RBI (including an RBI double) in addition to the walk-off RBI base hit in the championship game win … Went 2-for-4 in both NCAA regional games, against East Carolina and Maryland … Finished his career ranked fifth in NSU history in career hits, with 211, fifth in singles (157), seventh in doubles (40) and 10th in total bases (290) … Signed a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox after the season.
2020 (Junior): Started all 16 games … Named the MEAC Preseason Player of the Year … Hit .284 with five doubles, four stolen bases and 10 RBIs … Ranked first in the MEAC in at-bats, tied for fourth in doubles and steals, and tied for sixth in both hits and RBIs … Notched at least one hit in 13 games … Matched his career high with four hits (4-for-5) with four runs scored and an RBI in the opener against Wagner … Drove in two runs in the Wagner series finale … Went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI at VCU … Posted a 2-for-5 day with two runs and two RBIs against Radford … Also had a 2-for-4 day with an RBI double at Eastern Kentucky … Named one of the top 100 hitters in the country by the website D1 Baseball … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both semesters and was selected to the MEAC All-Academic Team.
2019 (Sophomore): All-MEAC first-team selection … Played and started in 42 games … Flirted with the .400 plateau for much of the season and led the nation in batting for two weeks during the season, before finishing second in the MEAC with a .377 average … Finished the season 28th nationally in hits per game (1.5), 31st in average and 54th in toughest to strikeout … Doubled 10 times, tripled once, hit three home runs and drove in 31 … Had a .503 slugging percentage and a .441 on-base percentage … Had more walks (19) than strikeouts (16) during the season … Had a team-best 63 hits … Opened the season with an 8-for-14 series at JMU where he had at least two hits in each game … Hit a three-run homer during a 4-for-5 game in the series finale, helping him earn MEAC Player of the Week honors … Had at least one hit in 36 games and at least two hits in 17 of the 42 games in which he played, which included a season-long 19-game hitting streak from Feb. 24-April 27 … Was 8-for-12 with two three-hit games in the first series with DSU … Batted 10-for-14 (.714) with nine RBI and two doubles in the second series with Md. 2018 (Freshman): Played and started in 48 of the team’s 49 games … Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American – NSU’s first since 2014 … Also selected to the VaSID All-State second team … Four-time MEAC Rookie of the Week selection, tied for the most among conference players in 2018 … Batted .314 with 13 doubles, two triples, five homers, a team-high 31 RBI and 13 stolen bases … Tied for sixth in the MEAC in doubles, was eighth in slugging percentage (.486), ninth in total bases (90) and 15th in batting … Posted 15 multi-hit games, tops on the team … Hit safely in 40 of his 48 games played … Hit a three-run homer in a 2-for-5 day against Hofstra, the first homer of his collegiate career … Won his first MEAC Rookie of the Week honor thanks in part to his big day vs. Hofstra … Went 3-for-5 with two RBI at VCU … Later that week, posted a 6-for-16 effort in a four-game series with Lehigh to win his second MEAC Rookie of the Week award in a row … Finished 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI in a win at Delaware State to open MEAC play … Knocked in two runs in the middle game of the first MDES series in March … Logged three hits (3-for-4) and two steals at N.C. Personal: Alsander Drake Womack was born on March 16, 1999 … Son of Tony and Janet Womack … Earned a bachelor's in mass communication … Father, Tony, played parts of 13 seasons in the Major Leagues, winning the World Series in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
