Biography

2017 (Senior): Played in 40 games and started 27 times as a senior … Batted .260 (27-for-14), scoring 21 runs and driving in 11 … Hit four doubles and led the team with 10 sacrifices (nine sac bunts, one sac fly) … Tied for second in the MEAC in sacrifice bunts … Stole 11 bases in 14 attempts and made just one error in the outfield … A MEAC All-Tournament Team selection … All eight of his multi-hit games came in the final month and a half of the season … Was 2-for-4 with two steals and two RBI in the first win at Coppin State in early April … Batted 2-for-4 with two doubles in the first win at Delaware State the following weekend … Stole a career-high three of NSU’s single-game school record 12 bases in the win over William & Mary … Scored three runs and went 2-for-4 in that game … Followed that up with another 2-for-4 day, including a double, an RBI and a run scored against Maryland Eastern Shore … Also enjoyed two-hit games at North Carolina A&T (2-for-4, two runs scored) and against Delaware State (2-for-4, one RBI) in the second half of April … Ended the year with a five-game hitting streak intact … Batted 7-for-16 (.438) in NSU’s four tournament games … Opened the tournament with a 3-for-4 game, stealing two bases in the win over North Carolina A&T … Was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the first tourney loss to Bethune-Cookman … Member of the NSU AD Honor Roll for the fall semester.

2016 (Redshirt): Redshirted the season.
 
2015 (Junior): Appeared in 30 games and started 22 times in the outfield … Batted .250 with 19 hits in 76 at-bats … Scored 12 runs, drove in 11, and tallied three doubles, one triple and seven stolen bases … Had three games with two hits … Was 2-for-3 with an RBI triple in game one of the IPFW series … That marked the start of an eight-game hitting streak … Also was 2-for-5 with a stolen base in the third game of the NJIT series … Drove in two runs in the first game of the first MDES series, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored … Batted 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI in a win over Delaware State in early April … Went 2-for-6 in the series against Jackson State.
 
2014 (Sophomore): Played in 48 games and started 46 times as NSU’s primary center fielder … Was fourth on the team with a .306 batting average … Tied with Justin Lee for the team-lead with 34 runs scored … Had 48 hits, five doubles, six triples, 15 RBI and 18 steals in 22 tries … Also had a .396 on-base percentage … Led the MEAC in triples and tied for fourth in stolen bases … Opened the year with a 2-for-6, two-RBI effort in his first game of the season, with Xavier in the Furman tournament … Stole three bases in the two games in which he played at Furman … Enjoyed a 5-for-11 series with five runs scored, one triple and two stolen bases in the four games with Savannah State … Had a huge series at MDES in mid-April, going 6-for-11 with five runs scored, two steals and two triples … Tripled twice in going 2-for-3 in the series opener with the Hawks … Scored a career-high four runs while going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases in the third game of that MDES series … That was one of four three-hit games recorded by Moore during the year, matching his career high … Also went 3-for-4 with two steals in the first of a four-game set with Coppin State later in the month … Capped the season by hitting safely in 10 of his final 11 games … Went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a triple in the MEAC Tournament opener with N.C. Central … Went 2-for-5 in the tourney win over FAMU and 3-for-4 with two runs scored and another triple in the tourney victory over Savannah State … Earned a spot on the NSU AD’s Honor Roll for the fall semester.
 
2013 (Freshman): Played in 27 games and started 11 times … Pitched a total of four innings in two appearances in March … Pitched a scoreless inning against Savannah State in the Tigers’ early-season tournament … Pitched three innings and fanned two in relief work at VMI … Used primarily as a pinch hitter and defensive replacement early in the season, Moore started the team’s final 10 games of the year in center field … Hit .297 with 11 hits in 37 at-bats … Scored 10 runs and drove in eight … Stole two bases and hit a pair of triples … Came off the bench scored two runs in a win over Coppin State in late April … Went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in the team’s final win over Delaware State in late April … Also had a 2-for-4 performance in the final regular-season game with Coppin State … Reached base in his first seven plate appearances at the MEAC Tournament … Went 1-for-1 with a run scored, a stolen base and two walks in the tourney win over N.C. Central … Finished 3-for-4 with four RBI in the tourney loss to Savannah State, establishing career highs in hits and RBI … Had a two-run single and a two-run triple in the loss to SSU … Moore was selected to play with the Coastal Plain League’s Petersburg Generals over the summer … Played in 14 games for Petersburg.
 
High School: A three-sport standout at Matoaca, Moore lettered four years in baseball and track and three in football … Was a first-team all-district and second-team all-region performer as a senior … Batted .383 with five doubles, five triples, 23 runs scored and 13 RBI … Also a talented pitcher, Moore compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.08 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 33.2 innings as a senior … Was a second-team all-district selection in football as a senior and earned the team’s Defensive MVP Award ... Was a two-time state meet qualifier in track … Also a two-time all-academic team member.
 
Personal: Andre’ Evan Moore was born on Oct. 3, 1993 … Son of Andre’ Moore and Monica Thomas-Moore … His father, Andre, was a football and track athlete at NSU … Earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing in May 2017.
