Chance Pauley

Chance Pauley joined the NSU baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2018. He will serve as a volunteer assistant coach working with the Spartan pitchers.

Pauley helped NSU win its fourth MEAC Northern Division title in five years in 2019. The Spartans advanced to the MEAC Tournament championship round, finishing as runners-up.

A Richmond, Virginia native, Pauley originally signed with VMI out of high school before playing one season under head coach Keith Shumate at Louisburg College in North Carolina. After a stint at Louisburg and UNC Pembroke, Pauley capped his collegiate career with two seasons at nearby Virginia Wesleyan University. Pauley was a third-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection as a senior in 2018, when he logged 90.1 innings pitched and posted a 2.89 ERA. In his career, Pauley pitched 148.2 innings for the Marlins.

Pauley also earned a sportsmanship award from the ODAC in 2017 and served as VWU team captain in 2018.

Pauley currently resides in Virginia Beach. He is the brother-in-law of Jesse Hahn, who pitches for the Kansas City Royals.
