2021 (Senior): MEAC Player of the Year … Finalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year award … MEAC All-Tournament Team pick and first-team all-state utility player by VaSID … Also named NSU’s Male Athlete of the Year … Was first-team All-MEAC at shortstop and second-team all-conference as a starting pitcher … Batted .357 eight doubles, two triples, one homer and 24 RBIs to go with nine stolen bases … Walked 15 times and struck out just nine … On the mound, went 7-2 with a 4.01 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 76.1 innings of work … Ranked third in the country with six complete games and was seventh-toughest to strikeout at the plate … Ranked eighth in the MEAC in stolen bases … Would have ranked third in the MEAC in hitting if he had enough at-bats to qualify … As a pitcher, ranked first in innings pitched, second in strikeouts and wins (tied) and sixth in ERA … Was two-time MEAC Player of the Week and four-time Pitcher of the Week … Posted 13 multi-hit games … Had three-hit games at NCCU (Feb. 28) and FAMU (April 10) … Also had two straight 3-for-4 games with two RBIs in each contest in a doubleheader at DSU on April 23 … Had career highs of four hits and four RBIs in a 4-for-5 day against DSU in the regular-season finale … Hit the go-ahead RBI single for the only run of the game in the 1-0 MEAC semifinal win over NCCU … On the mound, he won three straight starts and pitched a seven-inning complete game in all three in wins over Longwood, Morehead State and Coppin State in March … Proceeded to strike out 10 hitters in three consecutive starts in April, against DSU, FAMU and Coppin State …. Allowed just two earned runs total in those three outings and ran his complete game streak to five after a nine-inning complete-game loss to DSU and a seven-inning complete game victory at FAMU … Earned his seventh win of the year in the first MEAC Tournament game, pitching seven innings and allowing just three hits while fanning nine against FAMU.

2020 (Junior): Started all 16 games … Started games at third base (six), shortstop (nine) and catcher (one) ... Batted .241 on the year with three RBIs … Hit 2-for-3 with a run scored in the final game of the Wagner series … Posted a season-high three hits (3-for-4) with a run scored and an RBI in the middle game of the Morehead State series … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both semesters.

At PHCC (Freshman/Sophomore): Two-year letterwinner at Patrick Henry Community College … On the mound, Hosley was 6-1 with a 2.99 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 72.1 innings pitched as a sophomore … Also batted .354 and earned All-Region X defensive team honors … As a freshman, batted .326 and also made 10 pitching appearances … Struck out 46 in 32.2 innings, amassing a 2.48 ERA.

High School: Three-year letterwinner in baseball and one in football … In baseball, was Liberty District and Region 6A Player of the Year as a senior, when he batted .507 … Also was a first-team All-Metro and all-state … In football, rushed and passed for over 1,000 yards each … Was named Langley Athlete of the Year as a senior … Earned first-team all-conference baseball honors as a junior and second-team accolades as a sophomore.

Personal: Daniel Hosley was born on Sept. 3, 1999 … Son of Steve and Vivian Hosley … Majoring in exercise science.
