Biography

2021 (Sophomore): All-MEAC third-team selection and MEAC All-Tournament Team member … Made 13 appearances and 10 starts … Finished the year 7-3 with a 2.88 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched … Tied for second in the MEAC in wins … Ranked third in the conference in ERA, opponents’ batting average (.216) and innings pitched and was fifth in strikeouts … Pitched three complete games, including one shutout … Notched his first win of the year during a doubleheader at N.C. Central in February, pitching four innings with six strikeouts and allowing no earned runs … Fanned nine hitters in a seven-inning complete game win over Coppin State in late March, earning MEAC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors …. In his next start against the Eagles, he again pitched a seven-inning complete game and struck out a career-high 11 batters … Yielded just two hits over six innings in a no-decision against Delaware State on April 24 … Tossed a career-high eight innings and allowed just one run on four hits in an ESPNU televised win over Florida A&M … Did not allow a run in his next two starts, beginning with six scoreless frames in a home win in the last regular-season series with Delaware State … Followed that up with his best outing of the year, a four-hit, nine-inning shutout in the MEAC Tournament winner’s bracket final against N.C. Central … NSU won that game 1-0 en route to a berth in the championship round … Got the start in the NCAA Regional opener at No. 13 East Carolina …. Allowed just four hits in 5.2 innings pitched, but gave up four earned runs in taking the loss that day in NSU’s first-ever NCAA Division I postseason appearance … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both semesters and was selected to the MEAC All-Academic Team.

2020 (COVID): Made seven appearances, including starts against VCU and Eastern Kentucky … Pitched 11.2 innings with eight strikeouts and had an 0-2 record … Allowed one run over two innings of relief work with one strikeout against Wagner to pick up his first career save … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both semesters and was selected to the MEAC All-Academic Team.

2019 (Freshman): Contributed as a pitcher and outfielder during his freshman season … Made 14 appearances with four starts on the mound … Also had 17 at-bats in nine games played (including four starts, two at first base and two in left field) in the batting lineup … Had scoreless appearances vs. JMU (one inning) and N.C. Central (one-third of an inning) to start the season … Earned his first career start on the mound at ODU, striking out three in four innings … Had scoreless innings of work in games against Delaware State, William & Mary and Coppin State in March … Struck out a season-high four in four innings pitched in his start at Richmond … Pitched a season-high five innings in a loss to Longwood, giving up just two hits and one earned run (four total) … Had his lone two hits of the year at Delaware State in early April, going 2-for-3 with a run scored … Also drove in a run coming off the bench at JMU … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the fall semester.

High School: Lettered four years in baseball and one each in basketball and football … Was a second-team all-region pick each of his last two years … As a senior, batted .355 while also compiling a 2-1 pitching record and 2.33 ERA on the mound … Also a first-team all-conference utility player and second-team all-conference outfielder as a junior, when he batted .417 … Was high school teammates with fellow NSU freshmen Trent and Ty Hanchey.
