Biography

2015 (Redshirt): Played in three games, going 2-for-12 at the plate with a run score in the series at N.C. Central … Missed the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury and received a medical redshirt season … Nember of the MEAC All-Academic Team for the third straight year, and named to the NSU AD’s Honor Roll for both semesters.

2014 (Junior): Started all 47 games in which he played as the Spartans’ shortstop … led the MEAC with 20 stolen bases and was caught just twice (20-of-22) … Led NSU with 167 at-bats, 191 plate appearances and tied for first with 34 runs scored … batted .228 with a .343 on-base percentage … Drove in 20 runs and had 11 extra-base hits (nine doubles, two triples) … Had 11 games with two or more hits … Had back-to-back 2-for-5 games in the Spartan Classic against Quinnipiac and Villanova … Drove in two runs against Villanova … Went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the first game of the Savannah State doubleheader … Doubled twice in four at-bats and also knocked in a run in the second game of the Canisius series … Batted 3-for-3 with three runs scored, tying season highs in both, in the first game with Coppin State … stole a career-high three bases in the second game of the CSU series … Opened the second Delaware State series by going 2-for-4 with three runs scored … Had four RBI in the second series with UMES … Doubled twice and went 2-for-6 with two runs scored in the first game against Coppin State in mid-April … Drove in a career-high three runs while finishing 2-for-3 with a double and a triple in the final regular-season game with UMES in early May … Named to the MEAC All-Academic Team … Also named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for both the fall and spring semesters.

2013 (Sophomore): Played in 46 contests and started 45 as NSU’s shortstop … Hit .261 with 23 runs scores, 40 hits, five doubles, 10 RBI and six steals … Had seven multi-hit games … Went 4-for-9 in the three-game series with Wagner, including a 2-for-3 day in the first game … Was 4-for-12 with three runs scored, a steal and an RBI in the first series with UMES … Enjoyed a 14-game hitting streak starting with the second game with UMES on April 13 and ending with an 0-for-2 day in the first MEAC Tournament game with N.C. Central … Five of his multi-hit games came during that stretch … Had a career-high four hits in the final game with Delaware State … Was 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI to help the Spartans to the win in that one … Was 7-for-13 with a double and three runs scored in the final series with the Hornets … Put together a 5-for-11 series in the final three-game set with Coppin State, including a pair of two-hit games … Had a two-run double in the MEAC Tournament loss to N.C. Central … Member of the NSU Athletics Directors’ Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester … Also named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.

2012 (Freshman): Played and started in 46 games as a true freshman … Hit .203 with 29 hits in 143 at-bats … Stole six bases … Had 20 RBI, tied for second-most on the team, and also scored 19 times … Knocked in two runs in the Villanova series finale … Against VCU, was 2-for-4 with a run scored, the first of five multi-hit games on the year ... Drove in two runs in both ends of the doubleheader with UMES in mid-March … Went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the win over William & Mary … Was 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI in the win at ODU … Also drive in two runs in the first contest with Maine … Finished a perfect 2-for-2 and scored a career-high three runs in the nightcap of the April doubleheader with Coppin State … Also had a 2-for-3 day against Virginia State … Had a career-high three hits (3-for-5) with two RBI in the second game of the final Coppin State series … Did not play in the MEAC Tournament due to a hand injury … Named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2011 semester.

High School: Lettered three years at Great Bridge for his father, Wiley Lee … Led the Wildcats to Southeastern District, Eastern Region, and VHSL Group AAA state championships his senior season … First-team all-district, all-region, All-Tidewater and all-state in his final prep season … Named the Tidewater Player of the Year by The Virginian-Pilot … Batted .500 with 14 doubles, four homers, 35 RBI and 49 runs scored … Batted .392 with 26 runs scored and eight doubles as a junior, when he was again named first-team all-district, all-region and All-Tidewater.

Personal: Justin W. Lee was born on Feb. 13, 1993 … Son of Wiley and Jill Lee … majoring in computer science … Father is an NSU assistant baseball coach ... grandfather, Oliver Jacobs, also attended NSU.
